Holi party games to play with friends and family
Games for hands covered in colour — nothing to tap, nothing to hold.
Updated for Holi 2027
Holi is the one party where nobody wants to hold anything. Hands are wet, phones are in plastic bags, the music is loud and everyone is standing in a courtyard rather than sitting around a table. Which rules out most party games before you start.
So this list is the opposite of the Diwali one. No Tambola tickets to keep dry, no Ludo board, no grid to tap at: these are the games that run on voice. Antakshari is already happening by itself — this just keeps the letters and the score so nobody has to argue about whose turn was repeated.
Forehead needs one phone for the whole group, held by whoever is least covered. Dumb Charades and Raja Wazir Chor Sipahi need a tap each. Atlas and Word Chain need one word typed, which is about the limit of what a coloured thumb can manage.
